Day 89 - Normal

It never fails to make me laugh at how many people think that we're leading some crazy "Let's go go go!" kind of SLife. Most evenings, it's just Aldwyn and me, sitting on whatever couch or chair I have out at the time, talking on Skype, or not talking on Skype, while we do whatever we need to do outside of SL.

Day 89 - Normal

It's all perfectly normal. And that's really the way I like it.

Day 88 - Fondue For Two

I'm a huge Glee fan. Seriously, just love it. Don't judge me! Cheerleader Brittany had a "talk show" called Fondue For Two. For some reason while Ulaa and I were sitting this evening, the theme song popped into my head.

Day 88 - Fondue For Two

That's some hot dish! LOL!

I have a ton of style posts I need to do this week. I love events and I love blogging for them, but I need to learn how to space them out, I think. I just get all excited for an event and want to blog it! But I'm not the "Oh hi, let me blog everything even if my picture looks like shit" kind of fashion blogger. I mean, if my picture ends up looking bad, it's mostly due to my getting a little heavy handed with Photoshop. Well, and I think I'm going to need a new graphics card to keep up with SL pretty soon. I've had this one for a little over a year and I think that's long enough. I like my card and all, but I know it's not really good enough to keep up with SL anymore. I don't lag or anything really, but the pictures aren't like they used to be several SL updates ago.

Keep up or get out. That's my motto. :-p

Day 87 - Because We Eat

I'm trying to tackle room by room in our new house so that I can have all of the rooms ready to go by the time Culture Shock opens so I can really blog the house Ulaa made. Tonight I decorated our dining room. Because you know, we totally eat and stuff.

Day 87 - Because we eat

Yeah, I'm totally the type of person who has to have all the "real" type stuff in the house - including bathrooms and sometimes laundry areas. I just LIKE it. I don't think I could ever really live in like, a spaceship or a boat [unless it was a houseboat] because where would I put my washer and dryer? I know it's a waste of prims to some people and a lot of folks are perfectly happy to just stay in a box, but I'm just not that kind of people. :)

Tomorrow I need to really buckle down and get OUR bedroom finished. I've been tossing beds out in the room but haven't decided on one yet. Maybe...maybe it's time to shop for ANOTHER bedroom set???

Day 86 - Feels Like Home

For those of you who actually keep home in SL, do you have that one thing that just makes you feel like no matter what else is in the house, it's home? I do! Well, two things, actually, although one is multiple. Did that make sense? I don't know, it's 3am and I can't sleep but I'm tired. ANYWAY. My things are my photos and my rose from Light Waves.

Day 86 - Feels Like Home

The rose is fairly old. It was made in 2006 but I didn't pick it up until the closing of the Black Swan sim back in 2008. The closing of the sim coincided with a lot of other crazy things that were going on in my SLife, including my acquisition of Bluebonnet. So in every home I've had on the island since then, I've had this rose. It's primmy-er than most knick knacks you'd want to put out there, but I don't care.

Now the pictures... well, I love having pictures out!! I always have them on the fireplace or on shelves, and I have a photo tree from Kyoot that I always drag out when we change houses. On occasion I update the pics on the tree, but there are a few from the early days of when Aldwyn and I started hanging out. It just doesn't seem like home without pictures of our friends and family out. I'm always on the hunt for new photo frames, too!

Okay, I'm going to attempt bed again. Goodnight!

Day 85 - I got all my sisters and me!

I think the apocalypse must be coming because the unthinkable happened today. My sisters and I were all online at the SAME TIME. Naturally we had to take a picture to record this event, as I'm sure it may never happen again.

Day 86 - I got all my sisters and me

Actually, Ulaa took the picture. I just photoshopped it to death.

Short post today because I'm working on a post for the style blog. I would have had it all done earlier, but I went for a movie and Mexican food on the spur of the moment. That's my favorite kind of day!

Day 84 - Live Laugh Love...and stickers!

I went out today to shop around the Live Laugh Love Family Fair. It's a charity event raising money for Autism Speaks, something near and dear to my heart as two of my best friends have autistic children.

Live Laugh Love Family Fair

As you would expect from a family fair, there's much to buy for kid avatars, things to put in a family home, and poses made specifically for families. It's all unbelievably adorable.

I don't really do the immersive family thing in SL. I consider Ulaa my "sister" and have even taken on two more "sisters" in the past month [Hi Rylan and Willis!], and of course I have my husband, but that's about as far as it has gone for me. Last year when I started thinking about family stuff, I didn't have the time or energy to do anything. Now...well, I'd be lying if I said that going to that fair and knowing some of the families I know on plurk doesn't make me think about it. But I don't feel like I have the ability to cultivate that kind of bond with anyone at the moment. I'd hate to just get bored with a kid av, you know? Or be like, hey, I know I'm supposed to be your mom and stuff, but can you like...not be in my house? How crappy would THAT be?! LOL!!

Anyway, the fair is for a good cause, so I suggest going out there even if you're not particularly family oriented because there are things like wall decals and other little cute items for sale. :)

Day 83 - It's sooo big!

You pervs. I know what you were thinking with the title of this post!!

Sunday evenings keep me pretty distracted with my tv shows [gah! How evil is that Joffrey asshole on Game of Thrones?!] and with menu planning for the upcoming week. So in between all that, I was looking on some decorating websites and throwing down furniture. I kind of, KIND OF, got the living room half done. Kind of.

Day 83 - It's sooo big!

I know, it's super plain at the moment.

Do you ever notice just how oversized furniture can be? I sat in one of those chairs and I had enough room for two more people. I ended up shrinking the chairs slightly for balance, but then after I decided on a couch, I had to put them back to regular size or everything would have looked off. I know that our homes are usually pretty spacious because we need to be able to cam in them, so the furniture can be bigger to fill the space but... I don't know. Sometimes, it really IS just too big.

Hehe...that's what she said!

Day 82 - It just came out that way

I was sitting in our house listening to music and trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to decorate and I thought, "Oh, snap a pic, that's a cute pose." Afterwards, I was in photoshop jacking around with it and ended up with this.

Day 82 - It just came out that way

After I was done with the picture, the first thing I thought was, "Damn. I look like an advertisement for Zoloft."

Then I proceeded to laugh at myself for about 10 minutes because I'm an ass. :-p

I never did end up doing anything in the house. Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

Day 81 - Time To Get Groovin'

Woot woot! We have a house again! Ulaa finished up her house for the upcoming Culture Shock event and passed it over to me this afternoon. It's adorable!

Day 81 - Time To Get Groovin'

I'll show more pictures as it gets decorated!

It's been a while since I've decorated a house. I need to get back in that decorating groove. I threw a few beds out to see which one I want to use but I kept getting distracted. Of course, I don't know if we'll be in this one too long. She has another house that she's been working on, and well...I might like that one better.

Do you ever feel like you should be more immersed in SL? I mean, not spend more time there or anything, but just be more immersed in it when you have time to be there? I have some friends on plurk that are very much immersed in it. Not in the "I'm RPing a scary vampire in the middle of a crack house" thing. But more of a hanging out and really having a SECOND life thing. They go out, they do movies together, they have meals together. There's even a little restaurant where you can go and pay to have a meal with your friends and family, which sounds so flippin' cute I don't even know what to think. I just feel like I should do more with my time in SL than just stand around staring at myself.

I dunno. I'm just talking. And procrastinating on getting the house decorated. :-p

Day 80 - Squeeeeeeze!

I wrote this last night but my internet was being an asshole, so I didn't get a chance to post until today.

I went out to the Kawaii Fair today. It was pretty cute. :)

Day 80 - Squeeeeeze!

I've always been totally into anything little and cute. I used to collect miniature tea sets until the Great Shelf Crash of 2001. I have a little collection of Dreamsicle angels now. In SL, my eyes immediately go to anything pink and sparkly and adorable. But, I can't really say I'm totally into the whole "kawaii" thing. Even I have my limits on too much cute. :) But I did have to pick up this bee costumed bear. It's soooo adorable! I think it's really for kids, but the ad said it could fit adult arms too, so there ya go. I just needed something to squeeze!

Anyway, you should check out the Kawaii Fair if you like cute stuff. There's a lot there that's just normal template junk, but some things are really nice and worth picking up.

Day 79 - Decisions

I took a few days to kind of think about this project. Well, no, that's a lie. I took a day to think about it. I mostly haven't been doing it because I am so boring!

Day 79 - Decisions

The 365 Day Project, to me, is supposed to be about my life. I'm not doing it to show special places in Second Life every day, or talk about tech stuff, or anything. It is, as this blog has always been, just about my SLife. But honestly? If you guys knew what I do every day when I log in, you'd yawn and bookmark this blog for a sleep aid. Who really wants to see daily pictures of me standing on a posestand or standing in front of the house or standing on my platform? If I did that, I'd have to kick my own ass.

So I have a couple of options. 1 - I can stop the project and just go back to blogging sporadically the way I did before. I don't really want to do that. So, 2 - I can get off my pixel behind and actually make an attempt to go places.

The second option, obviously, is the one I should pick.

I guess I'll start opening up the destination guide again.

This project is harder than last time and I don't know why.

Day 78 - The Pose Fair

The Pose Fair starts on the 15th. If you're a pose whore like I am, you should totally go. :)

Day 77 - I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful.

I hate when tier is due. The island basically pays for itself but if I had my way, I'd be independently wealthy enough to pay for the island by myself every month and let my buddies live there for free. Maybe one day when I win the lottery, right? :) This past month is a bit tighter budget wise than usual, but that's my own fault. I've just been shopping and not doing any DJing, which is my primary source of income in SL unless I just buy $L. And well, that wasn't in the budget this past month either. I really should get back into DJing more often. I enjoy it and I love throwing parties. But I've been lazy. That's the only excuse I can give!

Day 77 - I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderful

Anyway, this post really isn't about money.

I've been feeling like I spend too much time alone in SL lately. Everyone just seems to be on a different schedule at the moment. And by midnight my time, I'm simply too tired to do anything, if I can even stay up. It sucks, a lot. It's no one's fault or anything, it's just how it is. But it sucks. lol It's not that I'm bored or anything, and I've been invited places here and there. It's more that I want to be able to hang out with people I'm close to, and I'm closest to 4 people who aren't always able to be in when I am, or when they are, they have work to do.

Yeah yeah, I'm just being whiny now. Hush. :-p

I have to get up early, so I'm going to bed.

Day 76 - This Cow Is Sick

Remember how I said Emerald gave me a cow so I could make steaks? Yeah, um, I haven't made steaks yet. And now the cow is just all laying there with flies around it.

Day 76 - This cow is sick

The thing that keeps making me laugh, even though it's kind of mean, is that there's a hovertext over the cow that says "THIS COW IS SICK."

She sure is!

Day 75 - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, dear ones!!

Day 75 - Happy Easter!

It's raining in my neck of the woods today. Good thing I wasn't planning on going to hunt eggs! Maybe I'll do some hunts in SL today, since obviously I'm not going anywhere else. That's the nice thing about SL. You have to MAKE bad weather, if you want it. Then when you're done - poof. It's gone in a flash. If only everything was that easy, am I right? :)

Day 74 - Easter Town

I took a little trip today over to see Easter Town.

Day 74 - Easter Town

It's a pretty cute little place. There are freebies you can grab, and other holiday things you can buy. But my favorite thing was the PEEP RACE!!

Peep Race

Now I don't really mind racing against myself [because I always win!] but I think it's probably more fun with friends. While you're racing, there are obstacles in the track that you have to jump over or just run around. It's fun! But be careful for the BIG MEAN PEEPZILLA!!

I don't leave the island all that often, so imagine my surprise when I went back down after racing and found some guy [Roy Nieuport, I'm talking to you] just totally spamming it up like it was 2006.

Oh Richard.

2006 style griefing

The spam got worse, so I was able to get in an abuse report before he was kicked from the sim. I don't know why people bother griefing. It's not like it really did anything. Hell, if I'd had my particles off like normal, I probably wouldn't have noticed a thing until he started to wear a box with a big booty on it.

But the griefer was kicked and all was right again in Easter Town and we were able to bunny hop our way to happiness.

Day 73 - Hi Cow

Excuse the crappy pic editing tonight. I was using Pic Monkey because I'm SO SLEEPY and didn't feel like even opening photoshop.

Day 73 - Hi Cow

Emerald gave me a cow! I should name it dinner because I plan on making it into steaks. LOL The funny part is that she gave me this cow a couple of days ago and I didn't realize you had to "Birth" it to make it a cow. It just sat outside the house for a couple of days not doing anything until Aldwyn asked me tonight if it's going to grow or something. I'm a bad cow mom.

Day 72 - That's not a good look!

It's rare that I have any big problems with SL. I usually rez really fast, everything around me rezzes really fast, and I don't lag much. But on the nights where I DO have some problems for whatever reason?'s pretty funny!!

Day 72 - That's not a good look

Still not having a problem moving around, though. So that's a plus.

I've been thinking a lot about the Big Bad Blogger Challenge. I kept meaning to run it last year but with all the RL medical issues that were going on, even when I wanted to, I just didn't know if my schedule would allow it. But now that things here are fairly calmed down and my first trip of the year is over, I'm thinking about doing it this month. I'm wondering if there would even really be a following for it this year because it seems like most of the non-fashion bloggers have either stopped writing, or they've moved to just doing fashion and don't care about writing. But it was so much fun those first 2 years! I figured it would run a little differently this time, starting on a Monday and ending on Sunday [there was some grumbles in 2010 that it wasn't a 7 day project] and that Sunday we could have the blogger party in the afternoon so that some of the non-US bloggers could join us. The party was a mid-week thing before, back when I was running the Hump Day Parties each week, and not always easy for everyone to get to.

I dunno, still just thoughts in my head, but I really would love to do it again. So we'll see.

Ugh. I'm still ugly and Aldwyn is still just body parts. I need to go take care of this!
