I hope everyone had a happy Halloween, full of lots of candy!!
So last year for November, I did my 30 days of thanks. But I'm going to be doing the 365 thing in November, right up until...mmm, the 24th or 25th, if I don't get lazy and skip any days, so I decided I'm turning my eyes back to my style blog and doing a post a day in November. That doesn't seem like a BIG deal to many fashion bloggers, but for me it is HARD. I don't put outfits together easily. I don't keep up very well with what's brand new. But I'm just going to put together looks that I like and if people can still find the stuff or if it's new, then it is. If not...well, too bad, I guess? Who knows. Maybe it will spur me to get fashionable again.
Sleeeeeepy.

Day 339 - Good Morning, meow meow!
Oh, good morning!
What? Like you've never woken up wearing kitty makeup?
It's cold in my neck of the woods this morning and I would LOVE to have a big cozy sweater like this one that I'm wearing. According to my thermometer, it's 68 degrees in my house [we have some windows open] and honey, that is just too cold for me. I don't like cold weather one bit, but I love cold weather clothes and being able to bake a cake without dying of heatstroke.
I'm off to go visit the parents. Have a great Saturday, everyone!

Day 338 - It's Coming
I feel November coming. I had rage today. Just...rage. I'm trying so hard to push it down, not let it come like in years past, but it's hard. It's so damn hard.
I spent some time tonight hanging with Ulaa out on her building platform.
She made that furniture, but it's not ready yet. She's got more, too. She builds & sculpts things herself - unlike a certain trashy skank "creator" I know who just pulls everything out of sculpt kits and couldn't build a decent house if it meant it would save her life.
Oops. No rage no rage no rage.
I think I need sleep.

Day 337 - Sparkle!
Tonight was the Thorne-Darwin Halloween party, which I DJed. Oh it was so fun! It was fabulous to hang with friends and see people I hadn't seen in so so long.
Aldwyn and I decided to go as sparkly vampires, because I almost wet myself laughing when I thought about it. I spent last night covering us up in tiny sparkle prims. I think it came out cute. It didn't look totally amazing in pictures, but if you see how much we sparkled in SL, then you'd know why I laughed so much.
Great great night. :)

Day 336 - Not today
No picture of my face today because I spent the evening in SL making my costume for tomorrow night's Thorne-Darwin Halloween Party. And well, I want it to be a surprise. So today, you just get my feet.
The party should be fun tomorrow. I'm not saying that just because I'm the DJ. The Thorne-Darwin parties are always good ones. :)
I need loads of sleep now, though. I have much to do tomorrow.

Day 334 - Surprise! It's a big pic of me!
I have my email up most of the day. I don't check it constantly, but since I usually have 7 or 8 tabs up anyway, it sits there. I got an offline from Sophia telling me to come in, so I hopped in world to see what was up.
Me! I was up! LOL! Sophia's RL hubby, Skyhawke, took my picture when I was chilling with them earlier. Without me knowing! I love pictures of myself and Sky has always been my favorite photographer in SL and I honestly don't think I've had my pic professionally done, when not for a modeling shoot, since he took a break in the spring.
Oh, what's that? You want to see the picture? Sure!
I don't really know how to end this and I have another post to write. So um...bye!

Day 333 - Plunk plunk plunk
While I was out with the plague, the Albero gacha festival for Halloween started. Gacha is kind of growing on me, I admit it. There wasn't much that I just HAD to have this time around [unlike last time where I knew I'd cry if I didn't get a pink radio from Artilleri] so I just made the rounds and bought one or two things from almost each machine.
I'm not actually a big fan of stuff you hold in your mouth but I thought that little ghost juice box was cute, even though if you actually tried to hold a juice box in your mouth by the straw, the box would slip off and you'd spill your juice. But I do love stuff I can carry in my arms, like this big candy corn! I don't know whether to squish it or take a bite!
I'm getting a little sick of coughing, so I think it's time to take my meds and go to bed.

Day 332 - I hate the plague
I'm starting my slow recovery from the plague. Well, it seems slow to me. It came at a most inopportune time and I'm kind of angry about it. I had plans for Saturday that I can't do now because my lungs won't allow it. I have been stuck inside because the medication I take to stop the wild coughing fits makes me sleepy and dizzy. [This is not rare. Most medicine does.] I haven't felt like doing anything at all and have definitely given my iPhone a workout. Btw, Cut The Rope is the most awesome game.
But tonight I've had the energy to sit up at the computer. It's been nice, sitting in my house, handling rent, catching up on notecards and IMs. SL is something that brings me a great deal of peace on a daily basis, and I have missed it.
I suppose tomorrow since I cannot do what I planned on doing, I will finally get a chance to hit up a couple of gacha fairs, and work on my playlist for the Thorne-Darwin Halloween party this week. And hope I don't cough myself to death.

Day 331 - Wear Purple
I have the total plague today. I came home with a bucket of medications, so hopefully something will make me feel better, but until it does...plague. I should be just resting and stuff, but I had something to talk about today.
Today is Wear Purple Day, in support of gay teens.
When I was in high school in 1996, gay was the new black. One popular guy came out, and suddenly there was a huge "Me TOO!" going on. The more I hear about the bullying, the more I realize that I went to an exceptionally tolerant school - not something you would suspect in a primarily redneck Texas town.
I wonder why these kids are getting bullied so much now just because they choose to love someone of their same gender. Is it the internet? Is it that kids have such raging self esteem problems, they can't feel good unless someone feels bad? What is going on?
What I would say to these kids is to stick it out. It gets better. High school is 4 years of your life, and then it's over. Then you go off to college, off into the working world, and most of the time, people don't care that much about your sexual preference. You will always run into assholes. Straight or gay, you're going to run into some asshole who dislikes you because of ... well, any little thing. But you just have to keep being yourself because that is the most beautiful thing you can be.
And to the bullies - I hope that you manage to find what it is inside your own self that is disappointing you so badly, you aren't happy unless you pick on others. Let it go. Nothing is worth all of this sadness and it's a destructive path. If you don't like someone's choice in clothes, friends, or who they love - let it go. It's not your problem. It never will be. Find peace within yourself.

Day 330 - Halloween Hunt For Autism
I started the Halloween Hunt For Autism today!
This hunt is one of the very very very few that I will endorse in SL because it means so much to me. With two of my best friends having autistic children, and knowing so many others with autistic children, it just means a lot to me. It's a hunt that you do have to pay $50L to participate in, but that money goes to Autism Speaks, so it's for a good cause. You have to hold that bag to collect your treats! I haven't finished yet, and I haven't unpacked the treats I've gotten so far, but I think there's some great stuff in there. Go over to the starting point and pay the big pumpkin $50L to get your bag. And I'd never tell...but your first prize might MAAAAAYBE be around that fireplace I'm standing near. If you get stuck on any other prize, or just want to find your favorite stores, check out this page on the hunt website for hints and SLurls.
I feel pretty icky tonight [my allergies are working overtime and my throat is sore sore sore], so I think it's time for bed.

Day 329 - Bee Positive
So, most people know I'm a pretty avid Plurker. Yeah, it can get crazy dramatic over there [with SLers? Drama? No WAY.], but for the most part I have loads of fun and it's given me the chance to meet and chat with people I might not have met otherwise.
This past week was a bit drama filled on the plurk front. Very negative, very high school. [Although I suppose this should surprise no one, as we have a great many plurkers who haven't been out of HS but 2-3 years at most.] So someone took it upon themselves to create Bee Positive. Almost everyday, Bee gives us a new challenge - like saying something nice about someone else or about ourselves. It's really kind of fun and I know I feel really good after I do the challenge. And yeah, as someone said, it's like we're having to be reminded to be nice, but I don't think of it like that. I think sometimes you just need a little push in the positive direction because being negative is often a lot easier.
Today's challenge was to let someone we care about know how much we appreciate them, either in public plurk or private plurk, or just an IM. This was good for me because I'm working on my article for Second Style for November, and it's the Thanksgiving issue. I am in the mood to be all cuddly with those I love best, and therefore today's Bee Positive came to my blog. Also because I'm super long winded and 140 characters sometimes just is not enough! :-p
* Sophia Harlow - We've been friends for over 2 years now and I sometimes don't remember what my life was like before she came into it. With a personality larger than life, she's a good balance to my quieter nature. What would I do without her? I don't even want to try to find out.
* Ulaa Coronet - My partner of...months! She's one of kind. In one moment we can be dressed trampy and getting guys to show us their freenises at clubs, in another we can be having a serious discussion about anything. She is definitely one of my forever friends.
* Aldwyn Zanzibar - Ever meet that guy that you like, but you're not sure of, right up until you are? Al is that guy for me. Sweet as can be, he puts up with my crazy issues and my insecurities, and still manages to make it seem like I'm normal and precious. Whatever I feel like doing, he's down for it, whether I want to cuddle, see sea monsters, or just stand on a posestand and try on clothes. Who could ask for anything more?
* RubyStarlight Writer - Oh, Rooby. She was an unexpected addition to my SLife, and I adore her. Beneath her loud and brash exterior lies a heart of gold, although she'd probably not want anyone to know that. She definitely taught me that you have to look past the outside exterior and find out what's inside, because that's what counts.
Oh, there's so so many more people who make my SLife so wonderful. If I sat here and named them all... well, I'd have nothing to talk about for my SS article, and it would take forever. LOL But I hope they know how much I appreciate and care about them.
Now that I'm done being mushy, here's my pic of the day. I love surrounding myself with pictures of people I care about and the more pictures I have up, the better I like it.

Day 328 - I'm feeling Halloweeny...kinda.
I started writing this last night, but got distracted by the movie Juno, eating carrot cake, and playing Dragon Age. So this is yesterday's post.
I've started to decorate my house for Halloween. I don't really have the urge to go all out on my parcel for Halloween as I have in the past, though. Last year I had the pumpkin patch, and the haunted castle, and the graveyard, and random ghosts and crap flying around. This year I think I'm just going to keep it cute around my house and the other Bluebonnet residents can decorate for Halloween as they please.
Speaking of keeping it cute, my friend Clementine made this witch's broom that you can "fly" on for Super Bargain Saturday. I think it's adorable. :)
And it's true. I have not taken off those Aiyana pigtails by Truth since I got them on Thursday. If this were the physical world, my hair would be extra crimped and wavy when I decided to take the braids out.

Day 327 - Magic's In The Makeup
I've spent a good amount of time today buying makeup in SL. I never thought I'd get to say that. Some people love art and music. I love makeup. And I know, skin creators make several skins and believe me, I do fatpack. But to be able to add makeup, to make the skin more ME... fabulous.
I started to play around again in Photoshop trying to make my own makeup layers. A couple came out okay. Nothing fancy, but maybe one day I'll get there. Until then, I'll just have fun buying and playing with what others create to make my face pretty.

Day 326 - Shrink!
Oh, let's just get the picture for today out of the way. It doesn't have anything to do with anything really. I bought a LAQ skin yesterday, which was odd for me because I don't normally like LAQ. And actually, I'm not in love love with this skin, but only for probably 3 reasons and it was a bargain really, so there you go. And I'm playing with eye makeup from Pixeldolls and Chelle Carousel today. I love makeup layers so so so so so so so much. I don't know how I lived in SL without them for so long.
I went to a fashion show for Evie's bridal collection. I haven't been to a fashion show in a while. Maybe since the last one I walked in, although I can't imagine that's so. Evie's designs were gorgeous as usual. I had been one of her models for her ad for her shop back in June. See?
Anyway, today was a runway show. We all went, settled in, got used to the lag, and watched the models.
But it made me realize that something terrible is going on in the modeling world.
Shapes and not knowing when to mod them.
For some reason, I've noticed models in SL growing taller and thinner. I'm not quite sure WHY this is. I understand that some clothes look better on taller avatars. But goodness. These girls looked like just your everyday, run of the mill, "Oh hi, I went to model academy and they told me I had to be this tall" SL models. I could not tell any of them apart. The faces were almost all the same. The bodies... too tall, toothpicks for legs, no boobs, no hips. They didn't tweak to fit the clothing, and did not mod the clothing to fit their bodies for the most part. One of them came down the runway in what should have been a floor length gown, but was above her ankles because of her height. C'mon. C'monnnnnnn.
Someone needs to open an agency for short, pretty girls who know how to fit prims.
Speaking of runway stuff, this blogpost is taking forever because I'm watching Project Runway. Go Mondo!!

Day 325 - Angry Bear Is Angry
Angry Bear and I were sitting around having a chat today. See, Angry Bear is angry because some people can't mind their own business. Angry Bear thinks that sometimes, the battle is not yours to fight. Pick your battles, choose your wars. Not everything is your story.
Listen to Angry Bear.
A battle that is not mine is the Last Stand of 2006 happening on the parcel next to Aldwyn's place. As an island owner, I'm pretty relaxed as far as rules on Bluebonnet. We're our own little place in the middle of the ocean and as long as no one is having issues, I'm pretty okay with however people want to decorate. My part is kind of country/shabby chic. Some go more modern, some go more forest, and then we have our two whimsical ladies on the other side of my place. We're good this way.
But where Al has his land, it's many sims connected for sailing and they have rules for how they can decorate. Buildings can't be over a certain height, they need to stay in a certain color scheme, etc. And that's cool, you know. It keeps the sims more cohesive as you're sailing around. But his neighbors... well, either they can't read, or they just don't care, because if you're sailing around, you're slammed in the face with this:
The other night we found a boat on top on the hill that separates their islands because the crazy people didn't seem to realize that on sims connected for sailing, you need to NOT have your land set group access only. Or in their case, they want you to buy a pass to come in.
If you own land and have a covenant - check your renters to make sure they're sticking to it, that's all I can say.
Oh, and please don't decorate your land like this unless you live far away from anyone else. It hurts eyes.

Day 323 - I Got Nothin'
Saturday, October 9, 2010
Day 322 - It was all good until the shot.
It was a pretty darn good Saturday. I spent the day out with my parents and ate really good food. Then...my mom made me get a flu shot. :(
No no...
:(
The shot itself doesn't hurt a bit, but I always feel gross afterwards, and this year is no exception. So I've spent the evening sitting around the platform while Ulaa builds.
Sometimes I feel like I should get back into building stuff, but...others are better at it and I don't find it as relaxing as I used to a couple of years ago. I'll simply remain a fan, and a shopper. After all, if everyone made stuff, who would buy anything at all?
I feel gross and tired, so I'm going to bed.
No no...
:(

Day 321 - Chimes are not the sound of magic!
Ulaa and I hit up the Jewelry Fair tonight while the lag was semi-low. There were some nice things and some not so nice things, some affordable things and some things that made me want to ask, "Do you want to sell this or just look at it?"
But while we were looking at the booth for one of our favorite designers, we heard clickety clack shoes. Then? The woman stood on me. :(
Ulaa was pretty sad for me.
I was pretty sad for the woman's feet.
Tomorrow I get to go through my jewelry fair folder. Fun!
But while we were looking at the booth for one of our favorite designers, we heard clickety clack shoes. Then? The woman stood on me. :(
Ulaa was pretty sad for me.

Day 320 - The Search For Clues
One of my great loves in SL has got to be beta testing. I really just love it so much! So when Aldwyn was asked to do a runthrough of Ryker's new Halloween game, and asked me if I wanted to do it too, I JUMPED at the chance!
The game is pretty cool and if you enjoy hunts & solving things, you'll enjoy it. A ton of work has been put into it and it definitely shows. We had a great time running all over and finding clues. Al pooped out on me near the end and said we'd finish tomorrow. I decided that wasn't good enough and I found the remaining clues, caught the killer, and finished anyway. Don't tell him!
Oh. He reads my blog. Oops.
The only complaint I had was that I thought there were too many clues to find. But this could be just because I hate hunting for anything for too long, and the clues are definitely NOT in your face. You will spend some time out there, but if you have to do it in sections, the detective's HUD you wear keeps track of all the clues you've found and all the witnesses you've talked to. I crashed a few times and it never reset on me, so yay for that! I would not suggest going at it alone, although you could. It's much more fun if you grab someone to go with you, or even a group. I would also suggest using Skype to chat while you hunt for clues because you will be ALL over the place and it's much easier if you can just talk. You could use SL voice, of course, but if you crash, then it's such a pain to get back into a voice conference with more than 1 other person.
I'm so tired, I don't know if I'll make it to the bedroom. But I suppose I should try.

Day 319 - Bad Mood
I woke up in a bad mood today. I couldn't tell you why. I certainly didn't plan on it. My friends, bless them, just let me be in it. They didn't try to "fix" my mood, they just let me be mad for a little while. Honestly? That's the best thing they could have done. I needed the chance to just be angry for a little bit. I've been holding so much back recently. Maybe they sensed it. Or maybe they just find me amusing when I'm bitchy. But in any case, I'm glad they allowed me to just be in a mood.
It did pass.

Day 318 - Duh-Duh-Duh-Destination Guide!
So tonight was the first night in a while that Aldwyn has had to put up with me all by himself. Usually we have other people in Skype with us or we're with other people. But nope, tonight he had to deal with me without distractions. Poor guy. :-p
I wanted to do some exploring so I opened up the "duh-duh-duh-Destination Guide!" and we headed to the town of Innsmouth.
I'm not much into sci-fi/fantasy type stories [reading, I should say. I don't mind if someone tells me a story if it's good.] so I didn't realize that this was a recreation of the town that H. P. Lovecraft used in his writings. It was quite spooky! If you go, turn on your music and media so that you get all the sounds you need. Well, from the media anyway. The music is just to more set the year range.
Also? Sea monsters!
It's really a pretty cool little place to explore, so I would recommend it.
The rest of the night was spent in a garden cave talking. Although we talk all the time, rarely do we get too too deep into some things that bother me, and he was nice enough to sit there for a couple of hours and let me unload. I don't open up to most men like that these days...so who knows, maybe there's hope for me yet. lol Thanks honey. ♥
I'm so terribly exhausted. It's been a very very long and active day and I'm pretty sure the only reason I've written so much tonight is because I'm so tired and sore, I can't move and it's just easier to sit in this chair and write. But I guess I'll try to make my way to the bed. :)

Day 317
I need to quit skipping days or I'm going to be way into December by the end of this project. LOL
Ulaa is working on a new house. Most of her homes are quite feminine but this time she went a bit more masculine with a fantastic cabin. It's really cute. I think you all will like it when she's done. I'd show a pic, but I don't want to. :-p Plus, she's not done, so you know.

Day 316 - I love autumn colors
October already. I can hardly believe it. I'm going to hold off decorating for Halloween for another couple of weeks, but I have the cutest little ghost & pumpkin lights for my house... No, no. Will not decorate for Halloween yet.
But oh, I do so enjoy all the lovely autumn pictures I've been able to catch recently.
You can get that little stool I'm sitting on at Olive Juice for 50L Friday, btw. It's super cute. :)
