Y U Hate My Gift Card?

This is an opinion post! O-P-I-N-I-O-N. That means it's MY opinion. It might be yours, or it might not be. Either way, it's just an opinion post, so that's the warning. :-p


For my birthday and my rezday last year, I got a couple of Earthstones gift cards. I like Earthstones a lot, but I don't often have it in the budget to buy new things because over the past couple of years, it seems like they have just gone up and up in price. Of course that's well within their right to do, and the stuff is pretty, but just not always in my budget.

So I was really excited when I got the group notice about a sale at Earthstones. Yay for SALES! I have my 2 cards which equal up to about $1600L. Double yay! I skipped on over to Earthstones, card in hand, and discovered....

I can't use the card on sale items.




Now, had I read the notecard that was sent beyond "Sale!" then I would have realized this before I went out there. But still, why CAN'T I use my gift card? Is a gift card not like money? Someone paid for it so that I could have jewelry. Earthstones has the money. I don't have the jewelry. Something is wrong with this equation.

I guess they could say that the reason is because it would be like getting almost double the items with the card that I personally didn't pay for. But if I was paying for $1600L worth of sale items, no money has been lost. The $1600L was paid at one time. [Actually $3000L, the value of the 2 cards, but of course I've used some since then.]

Is it just too hard to set the gift card script to reflect the new sale price? Or is there another reason? I just don't see why I shouldn't be able to use my gift cards on the sale items. It makes absolutely no sense to me, and truly, seems just slightly selfish of the creator. But hey, if there's a really good reason, let me know! It's not like I'll ever stop shopping at Earthstones, but I have to admit, this leaves me a little uninspired to spend money there again.

The Shadow Knowsssss

I like shadows in Second Life. At least, I like when I can get them to work and when people use them well in their photos. What bothers me is when people force shadows into photos when honestly, you have no idea where the shadows would have come from. Unfortunately, I was doing a style picture when I realized I had done just that. It's obvious I'm inside a loft. It's obvious that it's not sunny outside. So where in the heck would have all these shadows come from??




Oh well, it's still a nice picture. I just have to redo it with normal lighting for the style blog.

I know people would say "But it's Second Life, you can have ANYTHING YOU WANT." Well...sure. If you want. I prefer my lighting/shadows for the style blog be a lot more natural in order to show off whatever I'm blogging better.

So last night, Plurk exploded with Meeroos. Everyone was talking about them in some way - either to scream about how awesome they are, or bitch about how they're sick of hearing about them. I'm more in the second camp, but I'm not going batshit crazy to mute all the plurks. People have opinions and that's perfectly fine. Personally, I got so burned out on...um...the Breedables That Shall Not Be Named that I don't believe I will ever, EVER, MOTHER EFFIN EVER get involved with SL breedable pets again. Even if they're cute, even if I can play with them, I will not do it. In fact, if I do ever get involved with another SL breedable, I want someone to simply whisper, "Griffin & Sabine" to me so I know to step AWAY from the pixel pet.

Hmm. I shouldn't read plurk while I'm blogging. Now I want to talk about something else. I guess that will be the next post.

He won!

Aldwyn and I have been together for 10 months today. Can you believe it? :)




He has officially broken the record for my longest lasting relationship in Second Life. He's the winner!! Unfortunately, he doesn't get a prize. Well, unless you count me. But uh...I don't know if I would. :-p

We don't get to be together for our anniversary tonight since he's out of town [no me gusta!!!] but I couldn't let this day go by without a post. Happy anniversary, honey!! ♥

Kitty Shop!

And the great kittycats saga marches on. :-p

I mentioned before that we have a little kitty shop over on Catnip or GTFO, but there wasn't much there when I first talked about it.




Not true now!

If you're looking for kitties, you should totally come to our kitty shop. I have some kitties there for pretty inexpensive [since they're not super traited or anything], and Aldwyn has some better kitties there. Ulaa is SUPPOSED to be selling her kitty furniture there, but she's been busy with other projects and I think she forgot. [POKE POKE]

I'm debating selling my pink Valentine's Day kitty. I'm kind of looking to get out of the kitty breeding business [although she's a non-breeder currently] and I almost want to sell all my kitties except my leprecats. I guess if you see her sitting out there, you know what I decided!

Anyway, come out to the kitty shop! Sometimes I'm just hanging out there, so you can come say hi to me. Or just come buy kitties!

Another Regular Night: Bubble Blower

So we were just hanging out at Aldwyn's place tonight, chillin' and chattin'. I was blowing bubbles with my gum because hey, who doesn't like bubble gum, am I right?




But before I knew it? HE TRIED TO STEAL MY GUM! GUM STEALER!

Blah blah.

Blah blah blah. I'm in a shit mood tonight. I spent all day forcing a smile trying to be Miss Merry Sunshine just to try to bring my mom's mood up. And I don't mind it, but I hate when people refuse - REFUSE - to be satisfied. Normally she's okay, but when she gets in her moods...Dios mio.

Speaking of not satisfied... kitties. lol




I had my orange Valentine kitties up for sale at that kitty place, but since no one could ever seem to tp there, I went ahead and brought them back home. Aldwyn is getting into the kitty breeding thing for fun [and having NICE cats, btw. Growl.] so we're setting up a place over at Catnip or GTFO for our kitties. Ulaa is making some cat furniture, so I went over and put the kitties up on her new kitty tree. They're for sale now. I did a little decorating of the area, too.

I need to go to bed.
