Aldwyn took me out tonight to look at art. My favorite was the big oversized purse. Now THAT is my kind of art.
We spent the rest of the night staring at his new noob neighbors. It was like 2006 threw up on their parcel. Lots of fun!

Day 313 - Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower.
Autumn is so so in the air here, in both my worlds. We don't get the brilliant colors of autumn here in my neck of the woods, for the most part, but I do so enjoy it in SL.
I'm busy in my physical world today, but I keep sneaking into SL to enjoy my little home, and go shopping for this and that. But now that lunch is over, it's time to return to cleaning so later I can go back in and hit up the Seasons hunt!

Day 312 - I'm crazy decorating girl! Gimme some candy!
I really love Halloween. Well...okay, I have to admit, I don't like the zombie scary jump out from behind the bushes ugly monster Halloween stuff. I never watch horror movies and I do not enjoy being scared. My sleep patterns are screwed up enough, thank you.
But I do love the CUTE Halloween stuff. The stuff that is cute & spooky, but not actually scary. Ulaa has been working on what we've just kind of named "Spooky House." She was finished with one version but needed to re-do it. I like what she's done now a lot better. I was up on her platform earlier today checking things out again.
I've been working on decorating my house the past few days. I shared this pic on plurk, but if you didn't see it, check out my new kitchen/dining area. I am so in love with it!
I have one more room to work on, and more landscaping to do, but I'm in love with my little home. It's feeling very cozy and very much like me it's making me very very happy.

Day 311 - Called by the reds
So, people have probably noticed, but I've been opting for more auburn hair in SL lately rather than my normal super light blonde beach bimbo Playboy bunny hair. Or, you know, the Swedish tone since I wear Truth's hair most of the time. :-p And trust me, I love that color! But it's autumn and I am simply called by the auburn. Plus, I wear Ryker's Isolde skin a lot lately and that skin goes a lot better with the auburn hair as well.
In my physical world, I'm a brunette. I know. A lot of people are surprised by that, too. :) But since I've been wearing the auburns & reds in world lately, my real hair has been called by the reds. So I'm sitting here right now with "Spicy Cinnamon" red hair dye on my head. Spur of the moment decision. But hey, if you like to dye your hair and hate hair dye smell, I'd recommend Herbal Essences. It kinda smells like the shampoo in a way.
I've been working on my new house a bit as well today, too. But, again, I ended up playing outside.
I really like my new bedroom. It's girly and very ME. Still needs work, but it's getting there. Next, I'm going to work on the living room. You have simply GOT to have a place for people to sit when they come over. It's all part of being a good hostess, you know. :)
Timer just went off, time to wash this dye right outta my hair!

Day 310 - Downsizing
I'm having one of those nights. Those jittery, antsy, don't go into another room without the phone nights. My mom called earlier and told me that my dad is sick again. I know there is a recent round of stomach flus going on around here, but he's 72 and not in the best of health in general anyway. Even a cold is pretty bad on him, and he's stubborn and refuses to go to the doctor. I wish he would just retire. Retire, take it easy. But he doesn't and he pushes himself until he's sick. It's hard. It's really hard. I do nothing but think and pray. I am hoping that with rest this weekend, he will be better. I will be sleeping with the phone next to my ear.
To try to keep myself from going crazy, I decided I needed a new house in SL. I loved my Rise & Shine house from SPRY but it just felt so big for me today. I needed something smaller, more cozy. So I pulled out my Hope house from Funky Junk that Ulaa made for Project Donate. I had helped decorate it for her vendor shots, so I knew I could do it again. I ended up spending more time doing outside decorating, though.
I am not quite sure how I want the inside to be, although it will be similar to how I decorated it before for vendor pics. In my head, I know what I want. But isn't that always the way? lol

Day 309
I've been kind of sickly the past couple of days. My sleeping is all over the place, and so I'm awake at 4:30am. I was able to log in for a little while and spend some time with the ever growing zoo.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Adric Antfarm. He and I only talked to each other once in world ever, and that was after he'd given me a small gift and I thanked him. But I enjoyed most of his blog posts. He was always one of the first to jump on the BBBC sign up posts. Although I cannot say that we were friends, he was always kind to me in comments. Next year when the BBBC takes place again, I will most definitely feel the loss of his blog in it.
It's 5am, I should attempt bed again.

Day 307 - Does this even match?
I've been called "fashionista" more times than I care to count in SL. I never have actually considered myself one. Oh, I know what looks BAD. We all know what looks BAD. But I don't have the flair for styling myself like some of my friends do. They are the ones who can wear socks and heels, shorts and vests, and layer on the accessories, and it looks like they just stepped off the runway.
Me? Well, I'm lucky if I don't look like this half the time.
I try, you know. I look at my friends, on occasion I read the fashion feeds, and I try. I think in the past year, I've done a little better. It helps that when I like something, I end up buying a lot of stuff from the same designer because I can be sure of its quality. But at heart, I'm just a simple girl. Jeans, tshirts or sweaters, and I'm good to go. Just goes to show that even in SL, your RL tastes often tag along with you. :)

Day 306 - That must have been a heck of a swim.
Oops! Skipped yesterday! I didn't mean to, but well...it was Saturday. :-p I just didn't spend much time in SL yesterday. Maybe...5 minutes, if that. I'm afraid some info I got earlier this week shook me up more than it should have and I just needed a break. Oh, it's nothing truly. I'm fine. It doesn't even involve me exactly. But it just brought up a lot of memories and ... yeah. But, a couple of days away and playing with darkspawn and having all kinds of love with Alistair [From Dragon Age!] was good. Oh, except I forgot that I had uninstalled my "no jealousy" mod in Dragon Age that made it possible for me to sleep with everyone without anyone getting upset, and so I had to choose between Alistair and Zevran for the first time. Hmm... a whore elf assassin who is shorter than me, or the handsome, sweet, possible future king? Yeahhhh. Guess who I chose?
The whore, of course.
LMAO! Just kidding!!!
After a mute, ban, and unfollow, my SLife is good again. If only everything in the world was that easy, am I right? :)
So I was hopping around the island earlier when out of the corner of my eye, I saw something pass by over on Aisuru's corner. No, I told myself. It couldn't be. How did she get out here? Is it possible? But sure enough, it is.
The Loch Ness monster found its way to Bluebonnet.
Goodness.
The whore, of course.

Day 305 - For Ferelden!
The past few days have been... mmm. LOL I don't know. Not BAD, but just kind of off. You watch a friend do something that you've done before that is very obviously going to hurt in the future. You lose a friend who wasn't really there in the first place. You listen to a good many things that while they may not actually concern you and you're not truly involved, the information swirls around you in a big tornado of ickiness. It's in those times, I like to step back from SL for a moment to clear my head, and I hop back into Dragon Age. :)
I'm the one in the middle, Elissa Cousland. I didn't bother making up a name for her this time around and just went with what they gave me. She's pretty awesome. She's a human noble, daughter of the Teyrn of Highever, which I suppose is kind of like a king, but maybe closer to a Duke. She's also a rogue, which is my first time playing a rogue in Dragon Age. I usually choose to be a warrior, and I have played a mage once. Playing a noble means that there's a great possibility that you could end the game as Queen of Ferelden, which of course you know *I* love. LOL
I adore this game for so many reason, but a big one is that I can lose myself into it and not have to worry about anyone else. This is the reason why I don't play WoW. WoW has never never interested me, and I really think it's because I have seen my friends screaming about guilds and raids and that just so does not appeal to me. Not being a gamer [aside from like, Wii bowling and random Facebook games, Dragon Age is the only thing I play], I like to play games just for me. No waiting around for anyone or having them get in the way.
Oh. And I like to cheat. God mode FTW! LOL!!
[Only in the hardest spots. I promise.]
I'm heading back into my game for the evening. xox

Day 303 - The Right Type
Everyone seems to have a "type" of person they prefer to be with/date/sleep with. For the longest time, I thought I was destined to be with a tall, blonde man. This is based off a dream I had when I was about 17 or 18 about what was supposedly my wedding day. I never could see the man's actual FACE because we were getting married outside and the sun was in my eyes.
But of course, you grow up and your tastes eventually change. I discovered that I still like tall men, but I don't quite have a hair color preference, and I like them more on the big side. If they're older than me, that's even better. I love older guys! Not like, Hugh Hefner old, but I can happily do up to 15 years older than me easily.
However...I don't quite think that this guy is my type. Thanks, Heidi. I know you were just trying to help me out, but um...your friend is really not for me. :-p Plus, you know, he greeted me with a boner. That's never good.

Day 302 - Oh. Okay then.
Day 301 - I'ma get me summa dat pie!
I sat around for a bit tonight and watched Ulaa work on a new house she's building for Halloween.
What? You thought I was going to show you the house? :-p
Ulaa debuted Funky Junk at Project Donate and a few days ago released some her new items on XStreet. Seriously cute little houses! She is only Xstreet for the time being, but if you want to see a demo of a house, you can always ask her. Or me, since I have all her houses, too. :-p
I actually had a better blog post in my head earlier, but...well, sometimes you're just too tired to bother. :)

Day 300 - In the home stretch!
Well well well. Number 300 in the 365 photo challenge. Of course, had I not been postponed a few days here and there, I guess I'd be closer to 315 or so. But I told myself that when I started, if I had to miss a day, I'd pick it up and not skip. So there you go. 300.
September seems to be a month of change for me. Last year at this time, I was holding that massive yard sale, becoming friends with new people, and starting to SL date again. The year before that, I was getting unpartnered and acquiring my island. Oh wow, tomorrow is Bluebonnet's 2 year anniversary! If I'd thought about it, I think I would have thrown a party. Maybe next year. :)
So what changes will come this September? Who knows? I already feel some "shifts" in my SLife. Good ones, I think. I hope, anyway!
Just a reminder, but I'm DJing tonight from 8pm-10pm SLT at Wear Gray, a charity event being held to raise money for the American Brain Tumor Association. I'd love to see you guys out there! 100% of my tips tonight are going right into the donation box, so come have some fun and help raise money for a good cause! ♥

Day 299 - Fangirl
I was planning a blog post about how the decorating of my new house is coming along and I even had a cute picture to show. But then I went to check out Wear Gray and I had my first fangirl moment in probably well over a year when Elikapeka Tiramisu landed right next to me.
I snapped the picture and then ran like hell.
I used to get a lot more giddy about meeting creators in world. Logically, I knew they were most likely sitting in their underpants eating Cheetos in front of the computer as they created pretties. But still, it meant quite a bit to me because only going off of what they created, I had a certain amount of respect and awe for them. Then Plurk came along and I got to really know creators and it was more like, "Oh right. You're the one who just threw an emo fit/talked about your bowel movement/told us you tripped up the stairs/got hysterical because someone said they didn't like your item/just announced your love for Edward Cullen." /end fangirl.
[Speaking of the dreaded Cullen, I was at the grocery store today and this woman who was about 45 years old was wearing shortie shorts and a tank top that said "I'm in love with a vampire." The word 'vampire' was stretched over one of her spare tires. I'm pretty sure that Edward would have looked at her in that emotastic way, and said, "Oh honey no."]
So, you know, it's been a while since I've fangirled. Creators and bloggers are just like me. We just have different skills. I write. They draw or build. We're probably ALL in our underpants at some point. It all works out, you know? I was a little taken aback by feeling like I was a noob in SL again when Elika landed next to me and my first thought was, "HOLY SHIT." I couldn't even say hi, which is RIDICULOUS as I've talked to her a bit on plurk before.
All I can say is, at least I didn't start pointing and squealing.

Ruby likes to get babies.
Guess who got babies tonight?!
Honestly? It was harder than we thought it would be. LOL
.oO(That's what she said!)
I'm sitting here now watching and listening to Flix and Ulaa do building stuff. You'd think I'd be learning something, but I'm not. In fact, most of what they're saying is going over my head.
I think I'm sleepy.

Day 297 - It's Only Your Shadow
I have to admit - I'm not really on the whole shadows bandwagon in SL. I mean, it's cool and all for some pictures, I guess.
My computer is not so much a fan of the shadows. If you can see down near my feet, stuff started going to hell. But I did what I could.
My biggest problem with the shadows is that people are overusing them and using them in pretty bad ways. Your eyes in the shadows? Should not GLEAM like FLASHLIGHTS. If you're fashion blogging and you have so many shadows on you that your outfit is no longer visible? That's totally wrong. My friend Berry, however, uses shadows and uses them pretty darn well. So if you want examples as to how to use shadows in a natural way, her blog has some lovely pictures, and also shows how to turn shadows on using viewer 2.
I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, so I'm off to bed!

Day 296 - Stupid belt
My belt won't come off. No one else sees it but me. I've detached several times. I've tried other viewers. Sometimes it does come off, but then poof, back on. It's...yeah. I have cleared my cache but...nothing. Maybe a restart of my computer will make it come off? I don't know. But I'm tired. And I'm tired of my belt. I'm going to bed.

Day 293 - Imprudence Party
I went to the 2 year anniversary party for the Imprudence Viewer today. If you didn't know that it's been around for 2 years...well, you're not the only one. I had no idea. But 2 years ago, third party viewers barely mattered to me at all.
I use the 2.1 beta viewer from Linden Lab pretty much exclusively these days, as I've mentioned before. But if I were going to move to a third party viewer, Imprudence would be the one I would use. Although I used Emerald and liked it, I never fully trusted it. Same with most any of the others I tried as well. When I originally started Second Life, we had one viewer [sometimes 2 if you used the Release Candidate], and that's what you used. Didn't work for you? You either made it work by upgrading your stuff, spent less time in SL, or you sat around in your skybox IMing with friends and waiting for the next viewer release. When the third party viewers started coming out, I thought it was kind of cool, but at the same time, I didn't quite trust them. Who WERE these people making them? What risk was I taking every time I put in my password?
But, I trust Imprudence. I know some of the people behind it, and one of them I trust very much. So when the day comes that they put in some very important features that SL viewer 2.1 has that I have grown spoiled with, I will most definitely be using Imprudence more. I can't promise to use it all the time, but I promise to use it more. :)

Day 291 - Project Donate!!
Just a quick one before I run to bed. Project Donate opened tonight and you guys MUST go. Many of SL's most awesome designers are out there, and with many many of them donating 100% of the proceeds of their items to UNICEF. It's amazing and you can keep up with what's going on over there on the Project Donate blog.
Go shop!!

Day 290 - Oh, forget it.
[I had written this for day 290 but it was about 5am when I did so, and I forgot to hit Publish. So I'm just sticking it in there!]
.oO(That's what he said.)
The great house move continued today. But um, it shouldn't have. SL couldn't keep up with my gigantic 2000+ prims moving around and everything just went to hell. LOL Toilet in the living room, iced tea in the bathroom, cupcakes floating in the front yard, doors inside of windows... Ooh, it was a mess. So, I made the decision to pack everything up and just buy a new house. I ended up picking the same one a friend of mine has, which NORMALLY I don't like doing, but hers was just so darn cute. I'll have pictures later after I've modded and decorated.

Day 289 - I'm sorry, Mr. Potato Head
Autumn is coming to Bluebonnet and tonight I kicked the sand off the beach and the grass grew. But that also means that it's time for terraforming and landscaping and decorating. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to do, but it meant moving my house around. This is no easy task, as I have a 500 prim house and over 1500 prims in furniture. When I moved it around...well, some things did not move with it. :( Like poor Mr. Potato Head.
I was walking around looking at how messed up most everything got and I seriously wanted to cry! Of course I can fix it. I was thinking about redecorating anyway. But...ugh. lol
It's after 5am and I can't sleep because of a thunderstorm. Unlike most other people, storms do NOT make me sleepy. I hate thunder with a passion. But I need sleep, so I guess I'll stick my fingers in my ears to go to sleep. :-p

Day 288 - So Beloved
My friend Aisuru is pretty awesome. She has a great store called Beloved and she's been busy like a little bee revamping her location lately. I popped over tonight to see her work and she definitely outdid herself this time. The place is amazing! It's not a large location at all, but she managed to get it to look huge and like you'd walked into a small city. Amazing. I didn't get pics of the whole thing, but go check it out. It's incredible and a wonderful backdrop for photos. Plus, Aisuru sells brilliant items, especially if you're into whimsical landscaping. And she has some of the prettiest eyes on the grid for sale. But just go check it out for yourself. It's awesome!
