Just a day

Fairly quiet day, mostly because I was tired and that seems to make me a little more spaced out than I normally am. After my blog post last night, I found out that I couldn't sleep. So, I headed out to the sandbox and started building. I decided I needed a cool bag to match my new trenchcoat.

Messenger Bag

After watching Torley Linden's tutorial on tiny prims, I made some very thin links and added a "flower." Here's a bit of a closer pic.

Bag close up

I like it a lot, but I think it needs a few more details to it to make it exactly how I want it.

My rent was due on my apartment in 3 days, so I went apartment hunting again to see if I found anything I liked better. There's a charming area called The Villages At Pemberley and I was *this* close to renting there, but I decided to just stick to where I am now, at least for another week. It's quiet, cheap, and I hate moving. :)

I decided tonight after the event I hosted, I'd give hair making a shot. I have hair textures from a freebie store, so I hopped up on my trusty posestand and got to work.

Making hair is hard!

Hair making is freaking hard. I worked for about an hour, got completely frustrated, and went to ETD to take advantage of the sale there. Again. I know, I went against the $5L thing. I was sad!

You know what I've noticed? With all the fabulous freebies out there, there are not really any good free or very inexpensive decent boots. I have some boots that are completely not my style from lucky chairs [remind me at some point to show them] and I have some semi-ok ones that I've found on OnRez or SLX, but I'm just wondering why it's hard to find cheap good boots. I have lots of great free/cheap heels. Why not boots? Also, why are most sneakers for women so insanely huge? If our feet are required to be size 0 for almost all of the shoes out there, then why are the sneakers bigger than my head? If anyone has an answer to this, please let me know. Of course, you know what this means.

I'm going to have to learn to make my own boots and small sneakers.

Again, I am totally impressed with your building skills - that bag is adorable!

The cutest sneakers I was able to find are at a shop called Vertically Challenged. They are like all white Keds and are not huge. I SLove them. Redgrave has some cute non-huge tennis shoes, too. But of course, they are pricey at both shops.

Hey Alicia

I'm so glad you commented about this because I thought it was just me. I have some really cute free heels, and some great free boots from Digital Dragons Christmas gifts, but no free sneakers.

I may have to break down and buy some I think. I'll have to check if any of the places that have given great free gifts lately have cute sneakers. When I do spend my Lindens I like to make sure it's somewhere that's been generous so I can pay them back.

I looked more than a little silly doing yard work in heels last night so I had to go barefoot, and you know how attractive SL feet are ;> It looked like Rick had dropped that huge boulder on my toe after all.

Reaction Girl! had two pair of sneakers for free during the Advent Calendar period. But those were only available for one day :(

Tymmerie - Thanks! I'm so surprised that I actually enjoy building. I never was much for blocks & legos as a kid. :) I'll have to check out those stores, even if it's just for inspiration on making my own.

Cen - I think you and I are going to have to drop everything one night and just go hunt. LOL I found the sneakers I wear all the time on SLX. I think they were just $200L, which isn't bad considering I wear them alllll the time.

Daman - Why are you telling me about things I can't have? ;)
